Whether in the classroom, in workshops, or as an activity in museums, planetariums, science centers, or media centers, Xplore is the perfect complement to physical play with Xbrick. What is Xplore and what makes the app special?

Digital and real worlds united:

Xplore is an immersive app that we developed specifically for Xbrick®. It runs on your iPad and (of course) works best in combination with Xbrick®.

With Xplore, Xbrick® becomes an interactive medium. The app recognizes your Xbrick constructions and seamlessly integrates them into a digital world—for a fascinating AR experience, which adds an exciting dimension to learning and playing.

Theme: Space and the Solar System.

Just like in an escape room, tasks in the app are solved using (physical) Xbrick®. Since this involves a great deal of understanding sizes and geometries, the app trains spatial perception in real-world settings. Solving the tasks requires communication and cooperation among the students. And, of course, everything happens on the move, as the lightweight Xbrick® blocks are meant to be rearranged again and again.

Xplore app:

Free download for tablets. The app is designed specifically for iPads and uses the camera to recognize Xbrick® blocks marked with tags.

Try it out: If you don’t have an Xbrick® yet but want to try out Xplore, that’s totally fine. Since the markers work even without an Xbrick®, you can play using just the printed markers. Attach them to chairs, pin them to the board, or simply place them on the table. This way, you can complete the “Solar System” task and get a feel for Xplore.
