The exact number of people who can sit on the seating tribune naturally varies depending on the setup and size, and on the users' personal space preferences.

As a rough guide, however, one person can sit per Xbrick® in each row, i.e. 5 people on a row of 5 Xbrick®. In the row below, people sit offset over the joints, i.e. one person fewer, which means 4 people on a row of 5 Xbrick®.

So an Xbrick® seating tribune unit that is 5 Xbrick® (2.5 m) wide and whose back row is 3 Xbrick® high seats around 14 people. You need 30 Xbrick® and 42 X-conn for this unit.

Mobile seating tribune made of Xbrick® is very stable, tip-resistant and suitable for all age groups. Despite its minimal weight of 1.4 kg, each individual Xbrick® easily withstands a load of up to 200 kg. For stability, the rows can be joined with connecting elements called X-connectors, which hold them firmly together and prevent them from slipping.

Three-tier seating for an entire school class can be completely set up or taken down in under 10 minutes if several people lend a hand. First, put together 5 "staircases" of 6 Xbrick® each – this takes about 1 minute each. Then push the individual staircases together and connect them with the X-conn using the tool-free plug-in principle – this takes no more than 3 minutes.

We cannot provide legally binding information for your institution here. If necessary, please clarify this with the person responsible for internal safety. According to DIN 18065, free-standing stairs are permitted up to a height of 1 m. The Xbrick® seating tribune setup we recommend is only 75 cm high and is therefore covered. Nevertheless, small children who cannot yet judge the dangers of heights should be supervised when climbing on the seating. Basic product safety is already covered by the official GS mark ("Geprüfte Sicherheit" – tested safety).

When the seating tribune isn't needed, it can be stored compactly in the room or in adjoining rooms. Most commonly, the lightweight Xbrick® are stacked into a vertical tower in a corner of the room or arranged as a low, permanent bench along the edge of the room. For example, 30 Xbrick® can be stacked into a tower with a footprint of 100 × 75 cm and a height of 175 cm, or lined up to form a bench 50 cm high, 33 cm deep and 7.5 m long.

Alternatively, individual Xbrick® can disappear directly under tables or into cupboard units. Special mobile transport trolleys provide maximum flexibility: the entire seating unit fits on them and can be easily rolled into storage rooms, the basement or other rooms. For permanent outdoor use, storage in weatherproof outdoor boxes is a good option. Please do not store Xbrick® outdoors unprotected, as prolonged exposure to UV light can affect the material and colour.

Xbrick® seating tribune differs from fixed seating steps mainly in its flexibility, minimal space requirements and lower purchase costs. While fixed seating steps permanently take up valuable floor space, require costly construction work and are tied to one location, Xbrick® seating tribune can be set up yourself, changed or completely cleared away when not in use – all within a few minutes. In addition, the mobile version usually does not require building approval and can be flexibly converted into individual seats, tables or obstacle course elements as needed.

Xbrick® seating tribune is ideal as flexible reading steps in a school, as it creates a cosy learning atmosphere, adapts perfectly to any room size and can be built in various configurations, e.g. with a lying area or accessible from both sides. The EPP material is also thermally insulating, so the seat feels pleasantly warm. Cushions can of course be added for long reading sessions. After reading time, the system can be taken apart into individual stools for independent work in no time.

In principle, Xbrick® is very well suited for outdoor use, as it is waterproof, easy to clean and easy to carry. The material is also insulating, which is especially pleasant on cool ground.

If you set up seating tribune outdoors, please note the following:

1. Make sure the surface is clean and level. Small stones or unevenness on the surface can damage the Xbrick® due to the weight of the seating plus that of the users.
2. Don't leave the seating outside for more than a few days, as Xbrick® should be stored protected from the weather in the long term.

For higher, multi-tier seating, the X-connectors provide the necessary safety. They firmly connect the individual Xbrick® via the integrated grip holes. This prevents slipping when groups are moving around. For this reason, the seating tribune sets already include the matching wooden connectors. Otherwise, you can easily reorder them in our shop. If you only want to build a single-layer platform, you can also strap the surface with a tension belt such as the X-belt to prevent it from sliding apart.
