The current Fraunhofer IBP project “Sustainable acoustic and visual privacy at office workplaces” is investigating how tailor-made retreat areas can reduce stress and thus promote the mental and physical health of employees. Xbrick is part of the furnishing concept: in the office, Xbrick becomes a flexible stool for spontaneous meetings and creative workshops, an ergonomic stool, a sit-stand table and a standing table, as well as a fitness module for active breaks in between – both indoors and outdoors.
The aim of the multimodal research approach is to “objectively measure acoustic and visual privacy and integrate it into office planning so that future working environments remain resource-saving and health-promoting in the long term” (Fraunhofer IBP). With Xbrick, the working environment and, above all, the individual seating situation can be adapted as required – for greater well-being and performance at the workplace.
